A Running Start

Best Year Yet, as often happens with extraordinary ideas and products, had humble beginnings. You could say the company had a "running start." It was 1980 when founder Jinny Ditzler and her then boyfriend Tim set a goal to run the Paris Marathon. While painful to achieve in some ways, that goal proved to be a turning point for them both personally and professionally.

By New Year's Day of 1981, Jinny and Tim were engaged to be married, had set their sights on a number of other goals and were actually laying the groundwork for the program that has become known as Best Year Yet. After working with hundreds of people--from housewives to corporate executives in the United Kingdom -- it became clear that this was an idea whose time had come.

In 1994, Jinny turned her innovative 10-question program into the best-selling book, Your Best Year Yet The rest as they say is history. Since 1994, BYY has become a global phenomenon.

What started as a tool for personal goal-setting has developed into a simple but powerful strategic-planning and tracking system used by individuals and corporations worldwide.

The book has been translated into 12 languages, and trained BYY partners have taken on the mission of "getting Best Year Yet to as many people as possible as quickly as possible."
